# Ask the copilot to change a layer

Give the copilot a bounded change, inspect its result, and undo the turn if you want another direction.

Install and sign in to Claude Code, Codex or Kimi Code first. In **Settings** (`F2`), turn **App › AI
features** on. Open a file copy of your animation; Creator documents allow timing and easing
changes here, with values edited in Creator.

1. Click the layer you want to change. The stage shows its selection.
2. Press `/`. The copilot opens in place of the rail (the Properties panel in After Effects
or Figma), with the message box focused.
3. Type `Make this layer pop in over half a second. Keep its colour and position.` The request
stays in the message box until you send it.
4. Press `⏎`. The panel shows the request, the reply and each operation as it happens.
5. Click **◉ follow** if you want to keep your selection and playhead still. The copilot stops
moving them to follow its work.
6. Wait for the turn to finish. The result plays and the turn may offer **Speed**, **Stagger**
   or other controls.
7. Press `esc`. The stage has the keys again.
8. Press `0`, then `space` to review from the first frame. The entrance plays in context.
9. Press `space` to pause. You can inspect the final pose.
10. Press `u` if you want to remove that turn's document edits. The layer returns to its
earlier motion, provided no later edit needs undoing first.

The picture shows the controls before asking. The reply and resulting animation depend on
your agent and document. **■ stop** stops a turn; it keeps changes already made until you
undo them. `⇧U` restores an undone turn.
