# Make an animation from your repository

Turn a GitHub repository’s data into an editable star milestone animation.

You need a network connection to fetch your repository’s data. The gallery starts with
sample data so you can try its controls first.

1. Press `⌥G`, or click **File** › **Templates**. The gallery opens with animated tiles.
2. Click the source field along the top. You can type a repository address.
3. Type `owner/repo`, replacing it with your repository, and press `enter`. The tiles
update from GitHub; the line under the field reports what was fetched or what failed.
4. Click **1:1** along the top. The tiles become square.
5. Click the **Star milestone** tile. It opens as a document with **TEMPLATE** in the rail
(the Properties panel in After Effects or Figma, the Inspector in Rive).
6. Click a words field in **TEMPLATE**, type your wording and press `enter`. The animation
is made again with your words.
7. Press `w`. The document saves under the name shown in the rail.

The picture shows sample data. Your repository’s counts and words differ.
Remaking a template replaces hand edits after a second confirmation; `u` brings those edits back.
