# Motion Systems

Your LottieFiles workspace's Motion System is how your brand moves and looks, written down once:
its guidance, eases, colours, type, presets and assets. Signed in, Creator Terminal follows it:
the copilot, Motion Agents and other AI apps make your work in it, and the ease box, the colour
picker and the font list offer its values first.

## Where it comes from

Motion Systems are made on LottieFiles, in a Team or Enterprise workspace: import one from your
brand's website, start from a sample, or build it section by section, then publish it. Creator
Terminal reads each system's published version; a draft stays on LottieFiles until it's
published. In a workspace with none, `⌘P` → **Motion System** says where to make one.

Sign in once (`⌃L`, then `↵`: [LottieFiles](https://terminal.lottiefiles.com/docs/lottiefiles.md)). A document follows a system from
the workspace its LottieFiles file is in, or else the one `⌃L` shows.

## Which one is followed

- A workspace with one published system: it's followed, with nothing to choose.
- A workspace with several: the first time you send the copilot a message, it asks which one,
above the message box. `↑` `↓` pick, `↵` follows it and sends your message, `esc` goes back to
your words. **work without one** is a choice too.
- What you choose is kept for the workspace and in the document, so a document keeps following
its system even when the workspace's choice is another. Choosing is one undo step.
- To see or change it: `⌘P` → **Motion System**. The one followed is ticked (`↵` opens it), and
**switch to …** follows another. In Settings (`F2`) › Accounts, the **Motion System** row
  opens the same list.

The app asks LottieFiles for a workspace's systems the first time a document from it is open,
and again on `r` in the sheet; from then on the newest published version is followed, and one
that changes while you work is said on the bottom line. Offline, the systems last listed are
followed, and the sheet's top line says when LottieFiles last listed them (**checked 2 h ago**).

## The Motion System sheet

`⌘P` → **Motion System**, then `↵` on the one followed, opens it over the studio: its guidance,
then its eases (each curve drawn), timing, colours by palette,
type, presets and assets. `↑` `↓` move between them, `←` `→` along a row, and `↵` uses the one
picked on what's selected, one undo step:

| Row | `↵` |
| --- | --- |
| A colour | fills the selected layers |
| A type role | sets the selected text's family, weight, size, line height and spacing |
| An ease | eases the selected key's move |
| A preset | puts its keys on the selected layers from the playhead (its line drawing only on layers with a stroke) |
| An asset collection | opens it: `↵` on an item brings it in, an animation as a precomp, a picture as a layer |

`s` switches to another system, `o` opens it on LottieFiles, `r` asks LottieFiles again, `esc`
closes it.

## In the pickers

- **The ease box** shows the system's eases above its nine presets: click one. Its keys stay as
they are (`1`–`9` the presets); from the keyboard, the sheet's EASES row eases the selected
key. In the score, a move eased with one of them is labelled by its name.
- **The colour picker** shows the system's palettes, by name, above the document's own colours.
- **The font list** (`⌃F`) starts with the system's type roles: picking one sets the family,
weight, size, line height and spacing together, as the sheet does.
- New shapes take their fills from the system's colours.

## The check

`⌘P` → **Motion System: check this document** looks for values that drifted off the system:
eases that aren't its own (a linear move is left alone), colours that aren't in its palettes,
and text in a family it doesn't use. The findings show in the rail, each with the nearest of the
system's own: `↑` `↓` go through them (the stage seeks to each), `↵` uses the system's value,
`esc` closes the check.

## The copilot and agents

The copilot reads the system with your first message: its guidance, and each of its values by
name. It takes the system's eases, colours, type and presets before its own taste, says what it
used in the system's words ("Fade & Slide on the title"), and says so when nothing in the system
fits. An ease you ask for can be the system's ("ease the title with Fade & Slide"), and its
review names values that are off the system.

Motion Agents and films get it with a new idea's first message. Other AI apps, through
`creator-tui mcp`, see it in `document` and read it with `system` ([Other AI apps](https://terminal.lottiefiles.com/docs/mcp.md)).

With AI off, the sheet, the pickers and the check still follow it.
