## In this lesson

### Find the command (0:09)

Let's fill this empty stage with particles. Press colon to open the palette, then type Make particles to find the command.

### Make it (0:18)

Let's create our confetti burst. Press Enter to make it. With nothing selected, that's our starting point. On the stage, this cone belongs to our new emitter.

### Read the total (0:30)

In the rail, the total reads one hundred and twenty particles. That's how many copies this emitter makes across our four second document.

### Read the cone (0:39)

Back on the stage, the cone points upwards. Its edges show the spread of directions. The two arcs show slower and faster starting speeds.

### Aim the flight (0:49)

Let's aim to the right. Drag the diamond rightwards and a little inwards. That changes direction, and lowers the starting speeds by shortening the cone.

### Play the flight (1:00)

Let's see where our particles fly. Press zero for the first frame, then space. Now pause. There they are, travelling right, each following its own flight.
