## In this lesson

### Separate layers (0:09)

Let's see which parts already move. Press zero, then space. The coral body moves, but the green dot stays behind. Press space to pause. They are separate layers.

### Choose the follower (0:23)

We want the dot to follow the body. Press zero. Click the green dot. Choose the follower first, then the part that carries it.

### Choose its parent (0:33)

We'll connect the dot to its carrier. Click Parent in the rail. This names the layer that carries our selection. In the list, press return to choose Body.

### Same place (0:45)

The dot stays where it was. Look at Position. It now reads one hundred and eighty, zero. These numbers measure its offset from Body.

### Travel together (0:55)

Let's check the connection. Press zero, then space. Now the dot travels with the body, keeping that gap. Press space to pause. We added no movement keys to the dot.

### Move it locally (1:08)

The dot can still move on its own. Press zero. Drag it upwards, away from its centre mark. This changes the gap without breaking the connection.

### Keep the offset (1:19)

Let's check that new gap in motion. Press zero, then space. The dot keeps its new offset throughout. Press space to pause. Both parts remain separately editable.
