# Presets for the moment

## In this lesson

### Choose a preset (0:10)

Let's give our coral mark a celebration. With nothing selected, press colon to open the palette. Type particles, then press Enter for Confetti burst. These presets are ready-made particle settings.

### A celebration (0:25)

Let's watch it on the stage. Press zero, then space to play from the first frame. The pieces spread, spin and fall. One burst suits a celebration.

### Change the mood (0:38)

For something quieter, use the rail on the right. Click sparkles under Preset. Every setting resets, so choose this before making adjustments. The particle itself stays, still our confetti piece.

### Change the piece (0:52)

Let's give those glints a pointed shape. Below the presets, click sparkle under Particle. This changes what is thrown. Now look back at the mark. The pieces have four points, with the same movement.

### Make it quieter (1:07)

To thin it out, click more at the foot of the rail. Now find the Rate value. Click it, type twelve, and press Enter. This means twelve new particles each second, half as many as before.

### A quiet glint (1:21)

Let's see our quieter accent. Back on the stage, press zero, then space. Small glints appear, shrink and fade round our mark. Fewer pieces compete for attention.
